Next Meeting: October 21st!

Hello on a beautiful, sunny, fall day!

We hope you will join us for the next  Moms and More meeting on  October 21st at 9:30am. We'll be doing our Boundaries with Children DVD and having group discussion time. We have books for anyone that doesn't have one yet and this is only our 2nd week of video, so if you missed the last one you are hardly behind at all :) If you have a book, we'll be learning up through page 29, feel free to read to that point ahead of time.

We're only a few meetings in and we've all met new people already! Building friendships and meeting new people can be a really great thing for a mom with young kids. We may have different marriages, different parenting styles, different backgrounds- but we're all moms that love our kids.

Foodie Day!

This Thursday is going to be great! We have a guest speaker coming for our Foodie Day :)

Lynn Myrvang, mother of four and grandmother of two,  grew up in her family's world famous bakery and also around parents that loved to cook. She continued with that love and has catered numerous events (weddings, auctions, parties, etc), taught cooking classes, and consulted on many parties and weddings as well. Lynn even has a commercial type kitchen in her own home!

Please bring 10-15 copies of your favorite recipe to swap with other moms this week and as usual bring something for our shared breakfast (ie. fruit, casserole, bread, veggie, etc).

Hi Moms,
We so enjoyed our first meeting and the faces we expected and the faces we didn't. It's always amazing who God brings each year :)
At our next meeting on September 23rd we'll be starting our Boundaries with Children DVD. We really think there will be so much for us all to learn and our children and families will benefit greatly!

Last weekend was busy busy for Steering. Amber and I baked our Berry Crisps all day Saturday (our great hubbies even helped!) and Sunday we sold them at the morning CMC services. We were amazed and blessed how many crisps were sold. The money we make at our fundraisers is vital for our year. Books, supplies, childcare, etc, it all costs money. Rather than charge you moms crazy fees, we'd rather charge $50 a year and get the rest through fundraisers. Of course it's more work, but it's rewarding and we had a lot of fun. Our next fundraiser is our Holiday Bazaar on November 13th. We are lining up vendors and I gotta tell you, we have some amazing vendors this year! Even some of your favorite vendors from the Poulsbo Farmer's Market we'll be there, yay! Spread the word if you know anyone that sells something or makes something (exluding food please). Our vendor fees are very reasonable, starting at $30 and going up to $50 depending on booth size. This is a one time fee and we do not take a percentage of sales. We truly want our vendors to have a good time and make lots of money so they'll want to come back every year. Moms and More will have a booth with information and also the yummiest Caramel Popcorn you'll ever have (we'll be making that the week before the Bazaar).

You must not begin break down until after 4:00



The fees to participate are $30, $35, $40, $50 (depending on table size and location), and will be due by September 30th, 2010 to secure the first available spots. Check to be made out to CMC attention M&M's. After September 15th we will make the still available booths open to the public. It is important for vendors from previous years to make sure and reserve a spot as soon as possible.



Each vendor is required to invite a minimum of 35 guests. Please e-mail Diana your list by October 1st so we know when you have fulfilled this responsibility.

Each vendor is also required to donate an item valued at $15 or more to our raffle table which benefits the ministry Moms and More.



This year we’ve decided to only use the main building, The Pearson Fellowship Hall. We feel that the ambience and feel is better and each booth will have better traffic and overall sales than if booths are split between the West Wing and Fellowship Hall as they have been previously.



Booth sizes:

10x10’ on main stage – 0 available at $50

8x8’- 1 available near entrance at $50 each

5x10’- 16 available at $30 each

8x10’- 18 available at $40 each

7x10’- 2 available at $35 each



Each area will include two chairs. (We have round tables available for those that are not able to provide their own table). The Fellowship Hall will be decorated, however we encourage you to decorate your booth and make it a festive area that someone will want to come to.



Booths are available on a first come, first serve basis. We will allow one vendor of each direct sales type of booth, i.e. Pampered Chef, Scentsy, etc.



We will have a table for customers to sit and look through different catalogs. If you would like to put a catalog on the table, please bring it during set up.



There will be an assortment of food for sale at the event. The food will be provided by the M&M moms. There will also be hot drinks for sale at the espresso stand, vendors will be charged at cost, which is $2 per drink.
